IL Primo Giardiniera recipe originated in a Chicago deli during the early 1920's made with Italian tradition and homestyle Italian flavor. Selected peppers cured in vinegar and assorted garden vegetables finely chopped then steeped in oil with a variety of Italian herbs and spices.
Made famous by spreading over Chicago-Style Italian beef, sausage, meatball and cold cut sandwiches. Delicious when used as a topping over eggs, hot dogs, meats, pizza & garden salads. Flavor those holiday left overs & boring lunches with a kick. Great addition to hot or cold dishes."
